My word for 2012 is: achieve
I chose this word because I want to focus on specific things this year and I want to achieve them, bring them to completion. I'm a girl with good intentions just like everyone else but I notice that I've been letting go of some areas in my life.
This word will help as a reminder to start something, keep at it and achieve my goal, whatever it is that I set for myself. Here I will describe in more details about my goals, wishes and hopes for 2012.
Bible reading - My goals for this year are mainly spiritual. I started a Bible reading program called "The Discipleship Journal" and I'm loving it so far. The intent of it is to read the entire Bible in one year. I'm really glad to have this daily structured reading program in addition to my weekly Bible Study Fellowship (BSF Bible classes as some of you may know). I rejoice knowing that I will get to know God more intimately.
Prayer life - I'm also working on a "Prayer Notebook". I've never been one to prayer journal and to be honest, my prayer life could use some help. But this is different than a prayer journal, this is more of an aid and it organizes your prayer time. There is also the option to include a section to do some prayer journaling as well. You can customize the notebook to your liking. This idea came from this youTube video by Gina Garland: prayer notebook My hope is that this will enable me to grow spiritually, renew my mind and have a healthy heart. I want to achieve this with God's help.
Physical health - Another area in my life that I want to work on this year is to be physically healthy. I've tried this many times before and it's the hardest thing for me do achieve. I feel like this area is directly linked to my spiritual state, of that I am sure, it's all a matter of having a healthy heart to begin with. Once that is taken care of, the rest will just naturally follow. So I try again, baby steps at a time, not trying to get discouraged of the countless of times I have failed but instead being grateful that as long as I get back up again after falling, there is always hope. So this year I will give it my best shot to try and achieve this too.
Creative endeavours - Lastly, I want to get back to the things that I love doing creatively: blogging, photography, scrapbooking, decorating and organizing. Here again, I start a project and lose interest quickly if I don't see rapid progress. I miss scrapbooking so much. I miss creating with my hands and having that special time just for myself that I can get lost in my little world. So to remedy my lack of creative productivity, I joined the "Project Life" scrapbooking lifestyle and I'm loving it so far! Project Life is different that your traditional scrapbooking, you can make it as simple or as detailed as you want. I am doing a "weekly" overview (for an entire year) of our lives through the lens of my camera and via my words and some days I like to include little bits and pieces of our routines such as receipts from restaurants, clothes tags and brochures etc. I want to achieve a year of scrapbooking, I want to have a precious year of memories recorded for my family to love and enjoy.
I will have my Week 1 of Project Life posted really soon so make sure to come back to check it out.
Thanks for reading,
Noelia
